Annual Status of Education Report 2017

All is not well with our education system as per the Annual Status of Education Report of 2017, which shows the state of affairs of our education system. While the findings show that the number of students completing elementary school has increased over the years, they, however, lack foundational skills.

It was assessed that about 25 per cent students in the age group of 14-18 years could not read basic text fluently in their own language, and more than half faced challenges in performing basic arithmetic.

The Core Managing Committee of Little Angels Education society with an experience of 50 years in Education Management visions to transform our education system to meet the aspirational needs of the new generation, which will ensure that India’s demographic dividend continues to remain its asset.

We ensure that each student at SLJIS exhibit the following traits in the School like:

– demonstrate academic integrity and honesty.
– attend and participate in classes, labs, and seminars, prepared and on time.
– complete the assigned work in a timely manner with attention to quality of work.
– avoid making excuses for their behaviour.
– communicate in a careful and respectful manner with Teachers, peers, and other members of the School community.
– are engaged learners who dedicate sufficient time outside of class to Academic work.
– act in a civil manner that respects the School learning/social environment and complies with Institution policies outlined in the student calendar.
– utilize school resources and seek help when needed.
– respect diverse ideas and opinions.
– identify, develop, and implement a plan to achieve their educational goals.

Each student’s ability to learn and gain the best possible rewards from his/her school experience depends upon an environment which is conducive to learning and to activities which are consistent with the objectives of an academic institution. Therefore, SLJIS places these responsibilities upon students:

During these designated periods, students are encouraged to participate in the many activities available, including Student Senate meetings, student club meetings, and special lectures and programs happening in the campuses.

Attendance Policy
Every student is expected to attend all the classes, laboratory and sports sessions for which he or she is registered. Absences will be recorded by instructors, and the student will be held responsible for making up all work missed. Attendance requirements for each course will be established by the instructor and announced, published, and distributed with the course outline at the first class meeting.

Diversity
School should be a place which encourages dialogue and even differences, and teaches people how to live in a world where everyone is not alike and everyone does not agree. SLJIS is a place where it is okay to have strong opinions on an issue and to express them, yet we must remember that others whose opinions differ from ours have the same rights. For healthy dialogue to occur, the School must be a safe place for people to express their ideas. Thus, SLJIS will not tolerate verbal or physical harassment of those whose beliefs or behaviors differ from others.

Ethical Standards in the Use of Computing Systems
All students, faculty, and staff are provided with access to computing resources at SLJIS. The hardware, software, and files that reside on SLJIS computing systems are the property of the School. SLJIS has a computer use policy which outlines the regulations that are in force for all network users. This policy is available in all labs and offices in the School premises. Every student should agree to and abide by the regulations outlined in the computer use policy.
